About This File

WebFMC is a X-Plane plugin that makes it possible to access the CDU of select airplanes via any modern web browser running on virtually any device (phone, tablet, smart TV...) in your local network.

This is the free version of WebFMC that supports Zibo’s 737-800 modified and 737-900 / 737-700 Ultimate (X-Plane 11) and Zibo's 737-800 in X-Plane 12.

For X-Plane 11 please download WebFMC-free-1.8.1.zip.

For X-Plane 12 please download WebFMC-v2.0.1-free-xp12.zip.

WebFMC Free & Pro supports Windows, Mac OS and Linux.

Please note, starting from version 1.6.0 WebFMC requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019 available here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

The free version of WebFMC has the same general features as WebFMC Pro, the difference is in the list of supported aircraft - the Pro version supports more 3rd party planes. See our website for more details. WebFMC Pro can be purchased from X-Plane.org store.

WebFMC plugin for XP11 requires 64-bit Windows 7 or newer / Mac OS Mojave / Ubuntu Linux 18.04 or compatible distribution.

WebFMC plugin for XP12 requires 64-bit Windows 10 operating system or newer / Mac OS Catalina / Ubuntu Linux 22.04 or compatible distribution. M1 Mac requires Rosetta to be enabled - native support is planned in near future.

Summary of the main features of WebFMC:

  • access CDU (FMC) from any number devices (PCs, phones, tablets etc) at a time
  • simple installation - just drop WebFMC into X-Plane plugins folder
  • no need to install any software on the devices, all you need is a web browser
  • very lightweight and small, no visible impact on XP performance
  • can look as native app on mobiles (via browser's "Add to home screen")
  • supports keyboards on PC
  • supports screen-only mode for cockpit builders.

To connect to WebFMC from any mobile device, you need to connect your mobile device to your local network (via WIFI), determine the address of your X-Plane's PC and connect to it, i.e. http://<ip-of-your-PC>:9090 ; do NOT use localhost nor 127.0.0.1 from your mobile as these addresses work only when connecting from same same PC (where you run X-Plane)!

The screen-only mode for cockpit builders (where all keys and UI decorations are hidden, for the purpose of getting displayed in a physical CDU frame) is described here:

Please see the documentation included in the WebFMC zip file for detailed information on how to install and use WebFMC.

Note: WebFMC uses the Google Analitics module to collect some statistical data about usage of our addon that will help us in future development. This includes statistical information about screen resolution and device model that let us optimize and improve our graphic assets and code. We DO NOT collect any data to identify users. Starting from version 1.0.1 WebFMC offers an option to opt-out (disable) these measurements, but we kindly ask you to keep this functionality enabled to help us improve WebFMC. Please see the manual included in the package for more information.

Hi stolowski,

Very Cool indeed.. Have been using this for quite a while now.

I took the liberty to peek around in the css/html.
I have trouble reading the screen because of the spacing of the letters and thus replaced the font with the one found in xplane's resources and tweaked some sizes etc. Is there a chance you'd consider implementing this?
The attached image shows my layout!

Font is ProFontWindows.ttf found in ./Resources/fonts

My changes are made in the file: ./Resources/plugins/WebFMC/data/static/css/app.css
(rename attachment app.txt to app.css)

Thanks,

Roel

P.S. hope you're not offended

I wouldn't bother leaving a review, don't get me wrong here, the plugin is really useful (to the point that I want to buy a tablet specifically for it), free for Zibo and works great. What motivated me to write this is that I decided to mess with the "Display Variants" settings in Zibo and changed my FMC from A2 to A1 and then I noticed that this also changed in WebFMC to match the setting in Zibo. That's simply amazing guys. This attention to detail and level of cooperation between the plugin and 3rd party aircraft is an indication of the superb work done under the hood. Being a software developer myself, I can't help but notice those subtle behaviors that separate an average app from a masterpiece.

Thank you so much for this and for providing the free version for the Zibo bird, next addition to my hangar will be the Toliss A321 and when this happens I'll upgrade to the pro version of WebFMC too.

Brilliant! I am using it in X-Plane 11 for Linux without any problem, and with my Android phone. Absolutely fantastic.

And I'm thinking about buying the pro version (you deserve it!) to use with other planes. For now the only compatible aircraft I use (besides the Zibo 737) is the FF 767.

Suggestions: FF A350, SSG E-Jets, RWDesigns A330, Peter's A320, FJS Dash 8...

Wow! this is just a game changer. Thank you so much for this plugin. Works perfectly!

Not a big deal at all just wondering if there is a way to change the skin texture to make the CDU look more authentic and a way to change the button click noises?

1st time ever using this and I love it already! Quick and easy setup. Makes the sim experience much more realistic. The best realistic device to use with this would have to be an iPad Mini since it's the closest size to an actual FMC. I would consider upgrading to the "pro" version if I ever purchase the AirBus. Thanks for this free version. It allows people to test it out before upgrading to pro.

This is absolutely fantastic. I have a dual monitor setup and WebFMC is always running on the top screen for quick FMC setup and monitoring. In a pinch I can use my phone, or even my old Acer Iconia A500 tablet that I resurrected just to sit next to my rig.

OMG, this is awesome!!! works out of the box, and synced with the cockpit FMC.

Thank you!

PD: May be is a good idea to warn users that there is a tracking pixel (google analytics) in the code, so activities are being monitored.

Response from the author:

Since version 1.0.1 there is an option to opt-out from google statistics (we ask it the first time you connect to WebFMC on given device). All the statistics we collect help us improve WebFMC by giving us useful info about screen resolutions and device types in use. This is purly statistical data and we do not track anyone's activities outside of WebFMC.

Truely an amazing plug-in. 1 thing i would recommend is to add a not stating *make sure the wifi configuration is set for private and not public* and explain how to configure the wifi. otherwise a great plugin.

Great plugin mate and easy to use! I use it mostly everytime i fly on the zibomod 737. For this i've made a new template for your fmc based on the zibomod fmc texture...to make it more similar.

WebFMC template file for Zibomod 737 1.0.0

This is one of the coolest things ever. Sliced bread bakers and wheelwrights across the world are at this very moment fretting about losing their place at the top of the 'best thing since' list

Installation was simple. WebFMC works just fine on both my ancient iPad; it's a little slower on my ancient Galaxy S3. (Both circa 2012.)

I've yet to use WebFMC in flight but I can see no reason why it won't work. Of course, me being me, I'll probably peek at the appropriate quick view of the X-Plane FMC just to check it's still working. But that's just me.

Hi! Does anyone else have problem to connect with ipad/iphone. I do everything like in instructions but my iPad says "Safari cannot open page because it could not connect to the server".  It works well with PC (localhost).

So I installed webFMC in my Win 10 desktop computer running Xplane 11 and had to allow permission for it in windows firewall for it to work properly in my Win 10 touchscreen laptop.  Lag is very low and it functions perfectly.  It would be nice to change the actual size of the FMC in my chrome browser as the buttons are somewhat small for what I am doing.  (maybe I need a bigger laptop).

The only way it could be better, if you asked me, would be to do away with the smudge graphics on the screen so it is more legible.

Response from the author:

This is configurable, just open the settings dialog an disable dirty screen/button effects. See the documentation for details.

Thank you, my tablet worked very well. it just doesn't show the letter "A", Excon Ptap7.

I put a picture here and saw that the problem came from the browser, that there was no problem with the chrome.

That's pretty weird, noone else reported anything like this before. Please use our dedicated forum to report any issues, and provide more details, in this case a screenshot, web browser version, log file.

Free version plugin doesn’t work on my 64 bit Ubuntu ( The newest version - Bionic Beaver. )

Do I need to delete some files in WebFMC before putting it into plugins folder?

Regards

Response from the author:

Update: please check the latest version which fixes the problem with executable permissions on the files. As already mentioned below, please report any issues on our forum.

Linux version is still in beta, please see respective topic on the forum, you may need to set executable bits on the binaries. Please reconsider your review, it's not very encouraging to receive lowest score for something we give for free just because someone didn't make any research. The topic is here, please report any problems or findings there (don't forget to check our guidelines about reporting problems), not via reviews:
